The Desertification, Land Degradation and Drought (DLDD) Observatory for Latin America provides the data, information and tools necessary for a thorough analysis of drought events and the problem of land degradation and desertification in Latin America. The Observatory is produced by the JRC as part of EUROCLIMA, a regional cooperation programme between the European Union and Latin America. EUROCLIMA is coordinated by Commission's Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development (EuropeAid), and aims at facilitating the integration of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies and measures into Latin American public development policies and plans at national and (sub) regional levels.

A network of Latin American institutions is supporting the implementation of the DLDD Observatory and contribute to a dedicated web-based map server with their own products developed at the local to national scales. Access Maps and Data Services.
